JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Corona, CA
Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records for multiple business entities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role plays a key part in day-to-day accounting operations, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong computer skills, multiple systems navigational abilities (i.e. VPN, multiple merchant sites, Google Sheet, multiple iCloud base ERP software), AI understanding/capabilities, general ledger accounting, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting
- Prepare and record journal entries for month-end and year-end close for multiple entities: retail stores and wholesale/distribution, eCommerce entities.
- Properly account for intracompany activities and reconciliation between multiple entities retail and wholesale/distribution
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Perform bank and all balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Support (eCommerce activities)
- Oversee payment distribution for wholesale/distribution entities, record and reconcile eCommerce payments to sales from merchant accounts
- For the Retail Stores - Review and verify invoices to ensure payments are made, and accurate sales are recorded for each store
- Entering and correct coding of invoices and expenses for non-PO and PO invoices monthly
- Ensuring weekly payable distributions are prepared accurately and on time
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare schedules for management review and external auditors.
Compliance & Controls
- Support internal control documentation and compliance maintenance.
- Assist in audit requests, tax filings, licensing, and regulatory set up and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations, sales, and accounting team on accounting matters.
- Provide support for ad-hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 3–4 years of accounting experience (public, private, or mix).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, General Ledger.
- Proficiency in Excel (formulas, formatting, VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Experience with ERP systems (Odoo, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Experience in multiple company intracompany accounting.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
- CPA or CPA-eligible.
- Experience in wholesale, distribution, eCommerce, and retail stores.
