Technical Recruiter
Technical Recruiter
Skilled people keep aircraft equipment, quality, and sustainment programs moving. This role builds the pipeline that staffing, quality, engineering, operations, and program teams depend on—so critical work is not delayed by open seats. You will recruit for a fast-paced, 100% onsite aerospace and defense manufacturing environment in the Los Angeles area, where precision, partnership, and a can-do attitude are how the work gets done.
Performance Objectives
- Fill priority exempt and non-exempt roles—quality, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and program management—within agreed time-to-fill targets.
- Partner with hiring managers to define outcomes, must-have skills, and interview plans before a requisition goes live.
- Build qualified pipelines for hard-to-fill trades and technical roles so recurring openings are not restarted from zero.
- Screen for technical fit, manufacturing experience, and export-control eligibility, and present only candidates who can succeed in the role.
- Run a clear, respectful process from first contact through offer, and report weekly on pipeline health, source mix, and bottlenecks.
- Improve offer acceptance and new-hire start rates by aligning compensation guidance, schedule, and onsite expectations early.
- Keep requisitions, notes, and compliance records accurate in the applicant tracking system and related HR tools.
Environment & Resources
You will sit with People & Culture and partner daily with hiring managers across quality, operations, engineering, and program offices. The role is full-time and onsite in a medium-to-large manufacturing and office setting near Los Angeles International Airport. You will use an applicant tracking system, Microsoft Office, and established compensation bands, with support from HR partners on offers, immigration/export screening, and accommodations. Noise is typically moderate; some roles you recruit for work in inspection labs and machine shops, including shift schedules.
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of full-cycle technical or manufacturing recruiting, including skilled trades, quality, or engineering roles.
- Proven ability to translate a job into measurable outcomes and screen for those outcomes, not keyword lists.
- Working knowledge of aerospace or defense hiring constraints, including U.S. person / ITAR eligibility screening.
- Strong written and verbal communication with candidates and managers at every level.
- Proficiency with an ATS and Microsoft Office; comfort learning SAP-related HR workflows.
- Must be a U.S. person under ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee) and able to read, write, and speak English.
Role Selling Points
- Recruit for work that supports military aerospace equipment, depot, and sustainment—not generic corporate seats.
- Partner with a long-standing manufacturing organization known for a tradition of excellence and values of partnership, integrity, innovation, and a can-do attitude.
- See the full hire cycle, from intake through start, with direct access to the managers who own the work.
- Medical, vision, dental, 401(k), and tuition assistance for eligible employees.
- Equal opportunity employer, including disability and veterans; E-Verify is used for new hires. Reasonable accommodations are available for the application process.
